The Lincoln School System is a part of the County Board of Education. Lincoln residents voted for a new 5 mill tax, that's half a cent on one hundred dollars of assessed valuation, for new schools in 1999. The elementary school was completed first and the new junior and high school were completed in 2007.   The school is considered the best in the area. In 1911 Lincoln High School was the first county high school constructed. Lincoln graduates have distinguished themselves by becoming judges, lawyers, doctors, mayors, councilmembers, superintendants of education, teachers, administrators, coaches, scientist, businessmen, military officers and enlisted, and other specialties.
